Ohhhhh My last day was lovely.
This morning I went to the dentist and had a quick final checkup. Then, back home, out again to collect a bajillion prescriptions from the pharmacy.
Then onto the bus to work.
They took me out to lunch at Medusa's which is a really lovely Greek restaurant quite close to work. Everyone shared entrees of pickled vegetables, olives, haloumi cheese, spicy sausages and pita bread with tzatziki dip, and then chose their own mains. I had lamb souvlaki. Delicious:
Then when we got back, we had a coffee and cake!
I also got these really cute pictures of me and willum. I was feeding him raisins. And, haha, you can see I dressed in the Italian colours for my last day at work!
What else? tomorrow is my big waxing day and my farewell with friends. I'm so exhausted at the moment, I have a feeling I'm coming down with the flu! it totally sucks, I really cannot afford to get sick at this point, so I'm totally going all out with the ecchinacea and immune boost tablets. Anyway! I'm off to bed!
Ciao voxies!
Soooo today we took Willum down to the breeder, who lives in Thirlmere. Last time I was really overwhelmed with how many beautiful bunnies she had, and that they were all so friendly and outgoing. This time I was determined to get some pictures. She had a lot more babies this time than last time, and they were just beautiful. Here are some shots:
The grey bunny in the picture below is actually only 3 weeks old, so she's younger than the black - she's a big girl for her age!
I put my hand in the shot so you could see how unbelievably teeny these rabbit kittens were, but they're quite hard to see - here's a better picture where you can distinguish an ear and a nose or two!:
Willum was so well behaved! He's such a good boy. Afterward we had lunch at the George IV pub, which is in the historic town of picton, maybe 10 minutes drive or so from Thirlmere. It was built in 1839 which is super old for Australia, and they had epic chicken schnitzel with veggies, chips and gravy. Willum sat in his cage on the bench next to us and was admired by all the patrons who thought he was too cute for words.
Here are some pictures from the Pub where we had lunch:
Mum told me that the other day, she and Dad were finishing off the packet of corn chips that were left over from making Nachos, and Willum wanted to share, so the 3 of them are sitting there, eating corn chips together...
- dried strawberries
- sultanas
- anzac biscuits
- plain biscuits like Italian, zoo shaped breakfast biscuits
- corn chips
- ginger biscuits
So I'm almost ready for work, planning to go in early to bank my travel grant cheque from uni, and get my phone sorted. I hear this loud clatter, followed by repetitive thumping. What on earth?
So, I'm officially venti quattro anni. Today was fun. At work, I got strawberry cheesecake, a fluffy scarf and hat, an adorable pink card with a bunny and cupcakes on it, and an early mark.
Then my friends came over and Jasmine made us roast. As per usual, I'll list my haulings, accompanied by photos!
my grandma:
$200 cheque.
My parents:
my own tarot book to go with my mini-tarot deck.
3 piece jammies set
(they also paid for a lot of my mini laptop, and they're bringing me back a woolen skirt in my clan tartan from their trip to europe that probably cost them an arm and a leg )
my sister:
'woodsmoke' country road bag - I'm stoked about this one, I'm using it as hand luggage and it's almost an exact match for my suitcase
$20 bookstore voucher! yay! books for the plane!
My friends:
J
this gorgeous bag that she said was for 'school' in italy - it's so ME! and it fits my laptop and loads of books and rolls up pretty flat! perfect!
silicone, heatshaped cupcake moulds. Can't wait to try them out!
C (the florist)
these beautiful flowers
voucher for eyebrow, brazilian and underarm wax! I told her I needed/wanted these before I leave for europe
pyjamas with cupcakes on
My work:
matching scarf and hat set. They're really fuzzy/warm!
That's it from me! night from your newly mid 20's blogger! ciao voxies!
Willum is too funny. I'm sitting on the floor, watching Kate and Leopold (love that movie) - with a cup of decaf and some ginger biscuits, and Willum hops over, and eats my ginger biscuit! I was like, what the?! since when do rabbits like ginger.
I think every friday should have some old fashioned romance, don't you?
well, having lost my lay-buy virginity, today I lost my patience with the lay-buy system. I went over to Bondi this morning, having paid off $80 yesterday in the City Myer store, and they told me that the City Myer had put my payment into the system incorrectly, so it wasn't showing up, therefore they couldn't give me my item until they could sort out the $80 payment.
OMG, it took them 50 minutes of backing and forthing and faxing and calling each other to finally get it sorted and get my damn shoes. Honestly!
Anyway, I got the train into the city and went to work.
When I got home, I made my very own reusable coffee cuff! I've seen them everywhere online and i was thinking of buying one, but I thought - I bet I could make one myself. I found a template online, and bought some ribbon on the way home, then I scrounged around in the attic for some fabric bits that I had left over from my quilt. The backing is actually polar fleece. I love it!
I can't wait to use it tomorrow, I'm meeting up with Alison in the city for coffee, shoe shopping and chatting.
While I was busy making it, Willum was so funny. Firstly, I went into the loft to get out the material, and he snuck into the study, and was sniffing at the bottom of the ladder. I didn't realise this though, so I dropped the material out of the loft and he was terrified, poor thing. Then, after I coaxed him back, he played in the buttons I was deciding between, and then tried to squeeze himself under my foot when I was trying to use the pedal of the sewing machine. He also stood up on his back legs to chew on the ribbon dangling off the sewing table! He's so hilarious, he really likes to be with people, so he sat underneath my chair until I left the study.
Brrr, so freezing! time to swap to the laptop in bed with the electric blanket on, I think!
Night voxies!
I made Pilaf rice for the first time tonight! I was pretty proud of myself, apart from some sticking to the bottom of the pan it turned out pretty good!
My dad makes this dinner every friday so it was really nice to follow the normal routine while they are away. I love my sausages burnt by the way, it wasn't accidental, lol!
and I'm drinking hot green tea now. Except it's cold. But it's also tasty. Makes me more thirsty! Tomorrow Anna and I are supposed to be going for a walk. I suppose I should go to sleep now but I'm not tired.
Ok! that's it! I'm going to sit in bed with my Angels and Demons book and my rabbit and read until I fall asleep.
Good night!

Okay. Assignment - handed in, that means I am officially waiting for my results, and have nothing more to hand in!
I'm not sure what is worse, having uni work still to do, or waiting for results. I think maybe waiting for results is worse. Anyway! The semester is over! yay!
Today I was editing my assignment, (and by editing I mean, adding huge slabs of new research) and Willum was sitting there, looking out the window, looking glumly at the sunny garden. I know he hates going out there by himself, so I ended up packing up all my things, grabbing a cup of green tea, my laptop, a usb drive with my assignment word file, and sitting out there with him. It's funny, it's beautiful, clear weather, but unbelievably cold. At least I was in the sun and there was no breeze! and Willum enjoyed himself, which is of course the main point.
I got this funny photo of him eating the strawberry plants.
After I handed my assignment in, I walked up the road and got Angels and Demons from the secondhand bookshop. It's already a little bit different from the movie. I'm enjoying it so far.
And now I'm sitting inside with the heater on, having a glass of red, thinking about what I'm going to make for dinner, with a full weekend without pressure or responsibility stretching out before me. Bliss.
