I had another busy weekend! Let's start with

Friday

I swapped shifts and worked in the morning, and after work I walked across the bridge to Pyrmont and met Anna at her school. I got left in the staffroom for a while, and then after lunchtime ended, we went to Anna's class.

It's been a while since I've been around ANY kids, let alone like, 20 of them. They called me 'Miss Shaw #2' and I had forgotten how much touching and poking and moving and such that small children do. Like, get off me, stop TOUCHING, LOL.

Seriously though, they were totally cute! I told them about my upcoming italy trip (my sister wanted me to give them news) and they asked me relevant questions, such as - what's your favourite colour? how old are you? what's your favourite colour? favourite car? animal? etc.

I helped them with some numeracy and literacy and probably scarred them for life, haha! afterward, Anna and I went to Darling harbour for gin and tonic, followed by burgers at Hurricanes! epic!

Then we went to bondi and watched 'the proposal' again, god that movie is just so funny, and RR is unbelievably gorgeous! seriously! his character is such a perfect catch - loves his job, (has a job!) good work ethic, gorgeous, dresses nicely, has rich, lovely parents, likes animals, loves to travel... what's not to like!

Saturday was boring, but then on Sunday mum and I went for a walk in the park, then i had a late breakfast with Anna in Newtown. Then we hired twilight and laughed at how badly acted the movie was. She's just started reading the books so she wanted to see the film. It's even worse on a small screen than it is at the movies! too funny.

Yay! I'm back! I had to download firefox to get vox to work on my desktop computer, so random and frustrating, but at least I can post again :D

I'm enjoying my new camera, it's so pretty!

Alison and I met up today to 'exchange' christmas gifts - every year (for the last few years) we just go shopping together and pick out things that we like, up to a certain amount! it works out really well since we both get exactly what we want!

I got her Kit Cosmetics Fresh Pear, Crisp Apple and vanilla body lotion, and she got me MAC fluidlines in Dip Down (pretty brown colour) which I've been raving on and on about for a while, so she bought it for me.

We couldn't think of anything else to get each other, so we're going to have our toes and fingernails painted tomorrow morning together!

I also put a deposit down on a dress for that wedding I'm going to in January... my boss's boss's ex wife's brother's wedding (phew!) which should be fun! they are having 3 events in 3 different countries and their theme is red, white and blue which matches the flags of each country that is having an event. My boss already bought a blue dress, and my workmate saw a nice red one, so that left me with white, so my dress is a pinky oystery cream. I'll post a picture of it tomorrow after I've picked it up. Funnily enough, the style name is 'Seven Deadly Sins' - seems appropriate for me!

I'm still trying to play old DOS games on my comp... I got it working on my laptop but then it came up saying there was some kind of virus on there, so I'm not sure. I might end up giving up!

Anything else? I saw twilight again on sunday with Celia, haha, we're obsessed. I really couldn't decide if I loved it or hated it. I don't think most of the changes from book to movie were necessary or added anything to the story, but I'm still going to buy it on dvd (when it comes out, like a year from now!) and, I would even be up for seeing it again. It was really enjoyable! I think one of the best parts for me was how real the chemistry between the two main characters was.

I'm glad to have my vox access back :)

UGH!!!

Where do I start!!!!

well, yesterday we had that special surprise dinner for Alison.... I didn't get to upload the pics I got on my way! The Rocks is one of the older areas of Sydney, and I thought the Christmas decorations were so pretty!

AND THEN!!!!

Tonight, Celia and I saw twilight after 'dinner' at max brenner... (read: banana bread, melted chocolate and strawberries)!!!! (!!!!)

anyway!!! OMG my FAVOURITE part was at the end. [with her neck]. Not to spoil anything, haha!

I have to say, a good portion of the movie made me giggle, not because it was funny, but just because it was hard to take seriously. I have to say though, I enjoyed every minute of Bellward (Edlla?) screen time! they really did have amazing chemistry.

BUT!!! sadly, the most memorable part of the evening was when I accidentally lost our parking ticket and was freaking out thinking we would be stuck in the parking lot, or that we'd have to pay like $80 for a lost ticket!! But when I pressed the intercom button at the exit gate, the man said he'd let me out without a charge. What a sweetie. PHEW! I felt like such a FOOL!

Actually, that was the most memorable part until I turned around a minute ago and saw Willum's head sticking out from underneath the bed. My bed is like, max 2 inches off the floor, and I was sure that he was STUCK under there. I'm not strong enough to hold the bed up with one hand while I help him out so I was like, wtf, what am I going to do! but he finally squeezed his way out himself. I think he's getting too big to fit under there! hopefully he won't get stuck again! and I got a cramp in my leg when I was trying to lift the bed! fool animal!

Wooh! one night until twilight comes out in australia. Celia and I are going to see it at Bondi. I hope it's not disappointing!

Surprise dinner for Alison, it was nice, we had dinner at pancakes on the rocks and chilled and such, enjoyable evening although the trip home on the bus by myself was really long :(

Other news, my camera is farked. The screen has packed up and goes all crazy shades of grey so I'm on the look out for a new one.

Any suggestions will be welcomed!

I have been super busy doing things I probably shouldn't lately!

Last friday evening I went out for drinks with my sister and a girlfriend of mine. My sister met up with someone and they seem to get on well so I'm really hoping that works out for her. There were loads of gorgeous guys at the first place we went to, but it was more a looking thing, I enjoyed watching them rather than trying to get their numbers or anything. I'm happy being single and burden free, LOL.

Then on saturday I met up with my friend Alison. She was working for clinique until recently and she had family and friends invites for their 'corporate only' store which is quite near my house.

I had intended to set myself a $50 limit, but there were SO many bargains! I'm talking 65% off makeup brands like Bobby Brown, Mac, Estee Lauder, Clinique, and the same off fragrances by DKNY, Michael Kors and Tommy, amongst others! I ended up buying a few things as christmas presents, and then I got carried away in the MAC section. She gave me a second invite so I might go back again and get a bit more!

I ended up spending $257.00, but I got heaps of stuff!

2 50mL bottles of perfume

3 30mL bottles of perfume

2 Mac lipsticks

5 Eyeshadows

1 lipliner.

Corporate Store Haul

We went to lunch at Coogee afterward and then had coffee at starbucks when I dropped her off in the city. It was a really nice day, playing with makeup and helping each other choose!

I finished the Twilight series and started reading it again... I've been watching all the trailers for the movie and it looks like they've made some changes. I'm just hoping it will be as good as the books!

On saturday night mum and dad were in the blue mountains so I ordered pizza and watched girly dvds with Willum. We totally cuddled on the sofa, which was unusual for him, anti social little creature he is!

Then this week in short:

monday - dentist appointment. Everything looks good almost a year after my root canal!

tuesday - nothing much exciting

wednesday - on campus session at uni so I swapped shifts at work. I did the mornings which was fun and different! Then uni in the afternoon.

today - I went and saw the lost buddhas at the art gallery with mum! They were discovered by accident when they were levelling a playing field at a primary school in China in 1996. They're over 900 years old and they were incredible - there was still paint and gold leaf on them! they were really beautiful. We had lunch in the cafe and then I went off to work. We stopped at myer on the way through and got a free sample of chanel number 5 which was nice!

Tomorrow I have a 2000 word update report for uni! I'm only up to 670 ish. He said it can be 1000 or whatever word count is necessary depending on your project so I'm just going to hand in what I've got. A lot of mine is copies of documents I've been updating anyway.

Yes, yes, I was grumpy about the first book in the twilight saga... I wanted to like it so much, that I was a bit disappointed with it! but!

I have bought the rest of the books. I'm about an 8th of the way through eclipse.

But in all seriousness, I can't wait for the movie! Ever since Cedrick Diggory I've been waiting to see another movie with Robert Pattinson in it! I love this picture:

What else? It was my dad's birthday yesterday, but guess who got the best pressie! ME!

My desk computer died a little while ago so I've been on my laptop which is fine, but no computer tv or dvd's at night :(

Well, he told me he was just getting me some new parts, but yesterday guess what was delivered: A new computer! I'm so excited! woohoo! all new and shiny!!

The screen is HUGE, perfect for watching movies in bed! I'll post pictures once it's been put together.

Also? I went to see the mummy 3: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor..

There were a few things that made me sad about the movie... (my mini review) - I was disappointed that Evie's character was played by a different actor, she was really good, but I did miss Rachel Wiesz. Also, the character playing Evie and O'Connell's son, Alex - had an american accent! but in the previous movie he had an ENGLISH accent! it just seemed really out of wack and I think they should have kept the english accent. Also, I know this is harsh, but... he had the wrong sort of face. From some angles, he looked really attractive, but from others, not at all. It was a bit off putting - and let's face it. I did go hoping for some eye candy of approximately my age and instead I was checking out Brendan Fraser, who is, according to IMDB, 40 this year. Which means he's essentially old enough to be my dad. Still hot though! There were also some really pretty lame jokes in there that could have been left out and that lowered the tone that the previous movies had had...

Also, there was a lot of character development that seemed to have been left out, mainly the 'relationships' of the other characters excepting O'Connell and Evie. It made it seem kind of paper cut out 2D rather than believable.

Overall, I'm glad I went to see it and it was quite enjoyable, but in no way as good as the other 2 movies...

I finished twilight the other day...

I did enjoy it, and I do want to read the others, but I'm not sure if I was a little bit disappointed, maybe it was hyped too much? maybe I'm older and I've learnt to expect more from romance books? (jeez that sounds really lame, but seriously I have high expectations, lol.)

What else? beach this weekend, walked down there with Mum, and cut my feet to ribbons - first day of wearing thongs this summer/spring, and so I'm hoping they will be healed by wednesday and my graduation, since I don't think my shoes are comfortable anyway!

My grandma called the other day and asked my mum what to give me for graduations (she wanted to make sure it was worth the same as what she got my sister when she graduated, but none of us could remember!). I think what I'd really like is a tiffany bracelet, and maybe get it engraved? I'm not sure if I want the graduation date put on there, or my name, or what?

You know the thing that annoyed me the most about Twilight?

The bit where they were telling the story about how Dr Cullen became a vampire? and he hid in the sewers of 17th century london? (or was it the vampires that made him that were living in the sewers of 17th century london.) WELL... I don't consider myself all that well versed in British history of that time period... (ok, I have a history degree but STILL).

THEY DID NOT HAVE SEWERS IN LONDON UNTIL THE 1800s! and even then, they certainly wouldnt have been big enough to LIVE in, unless you were like, a rat? and you'd be pushing it! I just think, ok, pretty easy to research that one?

GRR! and then you lose faith in the 'believableness' of the rest of the book... End rant, haha, I still want to read the rest of the series..
