aaaaaah. I have the deep satisfaction of someone who has spent with impunity.
Today I chatted for a bit with the parents on skype, and later Mari and I wandered around Rome, shopping and eating gelato. I bought a gorgeous leather belt for only 15€, (I think I want to get a black one as well!) I eyed off a leather journal, but I want to compare it with my current sized diary before I buy it, since I like them to be roughly A5..
What else? I got pink jeans (kind of thinner than jeans but thicker than cotton), and these gorgeous asic tigers. Sexy!
in the shop with the leather journals and such, there were so many beautiful things, including wonderful hand stamped papers. I couldn't help myself and bought some with a chestnut pattern all over it. In italian chestnuts are called 'castagna'.
anyway, that's pretty much it from me for now...
Juventus vs. Roma tomorrow!
Forta Roma!
ciao voxies,

Hmm what did I do this week? it was nice actually, monday after class was gelato in piazza di spagna, followed by a walk to the coloseum, followed by dinner at a restaurant called 'thank god it's friday' - it took me about 10 mins staring at the name (it was in italian) before I got it, and then I giggled to myself.
What else? another dinner on friday, since heaps of my class were leaving, boo! we had dinner in piazza navona and it was really fun, since one of the girls only speaks portuguese or italian, we had to speak in italian all night, which was fun, we had sangria and pizza (god I'm sick of pizza. It's all absolultely amazing but I'm soooo tired of it. I could murder a huge hurricanes cheese burger with avocado or a hogsbreath steak with avo on the side...)
then today my flatmate and I (Marisol, the new one from mexico - she's so cute, she brought beautiful frosted shotglasses from her home town for us, they have the famous aquaduct or her town in a clear glass design on the side!) went to capri!
woohoo! I went
with jas but we missed out on buying handmade shoes there and were
really disappointed, so this time I went back and got some! its so
much fun, you tell them the type of base you want (high heel or flat)
and then you pick the design of the straps you like from out the front
of the store, and then you pick the leather colours you prefer, and
they fit them for you - right there while you wait! they fit your foot
perfectly, because they measure your foot to fit the straps! here's some pics of the ones I chose:
I ended up getting two pairs, and then we went up on the funicular (a kind of train that goes up the side of the hill to the main part of Capri) and wandered around and shopped a little. Then we got a teeny tiny little bus to Anacapri, which is the top part of the island. The bus driver was such a lunatic on the way up, swerving around all these hairpin turns and blaring his horn and almost scraping the mountain on one side and a 2 km drop down to the sea on the other!
At a little cafe place in Anacapri had the most amazing Caprese sandwiches (tomato, basil and mozzarella) - of course CAPRI makes awesome CAPRESE sandwiches! but damn if it wasn't one of the best sandwiches I've ever eaten anywhere!
ha ha, I abosolutely loved this sign - because of course I came all the way to Capri for Real English Tea and Butter Toast!
The holiday house that used to belong to Aristotle Onassis (of Jackie O fame) is also up there, but I couldn't remember which one it was.
After that we went back down and had our last fitting for the shoes and then got the ferry home. It's a really long trek from Rome to Capri (1.5 hours on the train to Naples, then a 40 minute ferry to Capri) but it's totally worth it, I absolutely love that place! Especially the shoes!
well that's it from me!
Baccio Abbraccio! (kisses and hugs)

It's been such a busy weekend, poor little willum has been left at home alone for most of it! On saturday I went for a walk with my sister in the park, followed by coffee with some of her teaching friends. After that, I went home, made cute mini pizzas and was all ready to watch some tv and turn in early when # 2 called and asked if I wanted to go out for dessert. 12 Degrees outside? naaaah. So instead he came over and we drank wine and chatted and what have you.
Then this morning, my sister REALLY wanted to buy an electric throw blanket, lol! so after breakfast at Martini cafe in Erskinville, which Anna's friend recommended, but turned out to be somewhere we'd been before, we went to Bondi.
She bought 2 pairs of stockings, 'The Electric Throw' a pair of gorgeous soft leather gloves and some new black flats. I restrained myself and instead lay-buyed this gorgeous pair of Guess pumps. They're so cute, they have little tabs on the back of each heel that have gold 'g's on for Guess! Very exciting, I totally lost my lay-buy virginity!
as soon as I raid my piggy bank I'll be able to bust them out! hehe. I also really liked the new versace fragrance, Versace Versence -
I got this picture on my sister's phone of the sun-set, it looked really Sistine Chapel esque! hehe!
Anyway, I asked the girls to come to my house tonight since I've spent all weekend out of the house and Willum is lonely, so I better go now! ciao Voxies!
So last night mum and I went to the festival of lights in the city. It wasn't really all that impressive, but i got some ok photos!
what else? my parents are leaving tomorrow, sob. Anna and I are supposed to be going to a new place for breakie on sunday, can't wait to see if its any good, it was a suggestion from the same person as last week's breakfast rec, which was great, so hopefully its nice.
And saturday night, Jasmine wants to have a few drinks. I might go for one or two - havent been out for ages.
Then today, i got a sample of Lancome Genifique Youth Activator today! the benefits and joys of Myer One!
I was so frustrated about a specific online drama I'm experiencing that I also had to go try on some Loubou's (Christian Louboutin shoes) in David Jones - it helped!
Also, I've been reading the Riley Jensen 'Guardian' book series all over again. I really want to read some of the new ones - maybe I'll organise to get dymocks vouchers from valuedopinions.com - they offer reward vouchers for completed surveys. I never know which vouchers to get so my money always piles up.
anyway. Ciao for now! xox
Rhubarb crumble is really easy actually, just wash the stalks, cut the stalks off just below the leaves, which are discarded, chop of the 'tail' ends, and wash. Then chop into 2cm pieces, throw them into a dish with a LOT of sugar, cover with crumble mix and bake until the top is golden (probably about 20 mins). You have to make sure that you cover all the rhubarb pieces or it doesn't cook properly.
I did a teeny bit of uni work, but our internet has been slowed down so everything is a major drama.
anyway. That's about it. Tomorrow hopefully I'll get some good pictures at the Italian festival, but the weather report isn't great, so I'm just praying it doesn't rain...
Ciao voxies!
I was reading over my last post - what drama? I totally didn't mention it! the drama would have been the 4 glowstick bracelets, 2 glowstick necklaces and the massive hangover I woke up with on the 1st.
I found out who the FHM lingerie cards belong to though! so that's a good start to the year.
I felt like all I've done this holidays is shop. I went shopping with mum on friday to get some shoes for the wedding I'm going to next week, and we almost didn't find anything... until MOLLINI. OMG. Perfect match, just the most perfect shoes that totally fit the dress I bought. You know when you think, ok, this is far too hard, I will never find what I want for a price I can afford, and then, all of a sudden, the perfect thing just turns up? It was like that.
The dress is such a difficult colour. It's cream, but with a hint of pink - but not TOO pink. It has a hint of champagne, but not too much gold. Almost latte, but not too dark. You get the picture. All the shoes were too pink, too white, to gold or too mushroom. So mum and I thought, ok, let's match the shoes to the black sash, black shoes? easy!
but! it wasn't! because I don't want to buy the same shoes I've already got, except a new version. I wanted something new, different, sexy, but also conservative, since it's a work wedding!
anyway, Enough of my rambling about the damn shoes. We found some! here they are:
In love! the dark colour on them is actually brown, but they can pass for the black of the sash on the dress. Perfect! and I can wear them afterward for work with browns and beiges and creams n stuff! yay!
What else? so that was fun - mum and I had lunch in dymocks and went to the book store to spend her book voucher, and then today we went to Bondi junction to get jasmine a birthday present.
I ended up getting her headache balm (she wanted it!) a cook book, something from T2 (tea shop), and some things from Kikki K. I hope she likes it.
Anyway, returning from that, I realised I'd forgotten to buy wrapping paper, so I went up to randwick and picked some up, and Mum and I had coffee. We also found Australian-flag thongs (flip flops) for Australia day! so now I only need to find a tshirt and I'm set!
Yawn. I'm tired. Supposed to be jogging tomorrow morning. Can't really see it happening but we'll see.
Night night.
I swear, I have had a crazy few days! So yesterday, I was making myself a coffee, with my favourite imported-from-the US-valentines-day-pink-and-red-heart-design-rubber-soled-starbucks-mug when all of a sudden... my coffee machine just EXPLODED! I have no idea what happened, maybe the coffee handle bit wasn't correctly inserted and the pressure built up and shot it out, but it was insane. My coffee mug smashed all over the floor, coffee and water sprayed down the cupboards... boiling hot water and coffee grains burning my arm, and I just stood there in shock!
my sister and my mum cleared it all up while I wandered around the house, shaking like a leaf and sobbing and feeling sad about my FAVOURITE imported-from-the US-valentines-day-pink-and-red-heart-design-rubber-soled-starbucks-mug
Anyway, so that totally sucked, so mum and i were like, FINE, we'll go up to Rando and get some coffee and buy her a sim card for her new phone. And then W called and asked if I'd like to go bowling, so we went bowling at the new bowling place in darling harbour, where he beat me by an embarrassing margine, and then afterward we sat in the sun with starbucks. It was really nice! He drove me home around 6:30pm ish, and this morning he's off to Melbourne to go to some music festival thing over NYE.
Today I went shopping since most of the shops that didn't sell food were closed yesterday... we went to factorie, and look what I got!
anyway, that's it for me for now!
Yawn. SO it's already monday again...
I finished twilight the other day...
Edited to add...
I got correspondence from UAC (Universities Admission Centre) - If I pass this semester, I have an official offer for Masters! woo! it's happened!
I'm not sure how it happened, but I have a plan for the next year and a half!
All I have to do is finish this last month of semester. (I swear I'll be sooo upset if I fail anything! arg!)
I have photos from our day-early mother's day celebration too - my sister, mum and I went to the Swissotel in the city for high tea. It was really nice. Afterward we got the train to circular quay and had a glass of wine in the sun near the opera house.
I felt kind of bad worrying about things and feeling depressed about a certain thing in such beautiful surrounds, it's moments like that when it helps to remember that regardless of what is going on in our lives the world is a beautiful place if we take the time to look.
On the downside, the heel on my newest pair of shoes broke! I've only worn them twice and only had them for 10 days, even if I'd worn them every day that's pretty poor. I thought I'd paid with cash and I couldn't find the receipt so I was frustrated as theres no way they'd take them back without one.. BUT! I found the transaction on my online banking! so I'll print off a copy and take it in with me and see if I can't get a credit note!
