I had another busy weekend! Let's start with
Friday
I swapped shifts and worked in the morning, and after work I walked across the bridge to Pyrmont and met Anna at her school. I got left in the staffroom for a while, and then after lunchtime ended, we went to Anna's class.
It's been a while since I've been around ANY kids, let alone like, 20 of them. They called me 'Miss Shaw #2' and I had forgotten how much touching and poking and moving and such that small children do. Like, get off me, stop TOUCHING, LOL.
Seriously though, they were totally cute! I told them about my upcoming italy trip (my sister wanted me to give them news) and they asked me relevant questions, such as - what's your favourite colour? how old are you? what's your favourite colour? favourite car? animal? etc.
I helped them with some numeracy and literacy and probably scarred them for life, haha! afterward, Anna and I went to Darling harbour for gin and tonic, followed by burgers at Hurricanes! epic!
They have these crazy flames behind a glass wall -
Then we went to bondi and watched 'the proposal' again, god that movie is just so funny, and RR is unbelievably gorgeous! seriously! his character is such a perfect catch - loves his job, (has a job!) good work ethic, gorgeous, dresses nicely, has rich, lovely parents, likes animals, loves to travel... what's not to like!
Saturday was boring, but then on Sunday mum and I went for a walk in the park, then i had a late breakfast with Anna in Newtown. Then we hired twilight and laughed at how badly acted the movie was. She's just started reading the books so she wanted to see the film. It's even worse on a small screen than it is at the movies! too funny.
The teapot at the place we had breakfast had these cool handles on the teastrainers that had letters - funnily enough mine was an R (for Rosie):
anyway. I'm off for dinner with Celia now, so ciao voxies!
I started off quite well today, I got through a LOT of my paper, and I'm now over the word limit, but I still haven't started talking about one of my 5 themes (Indigenous culture), I don't have any information on it, and it will require about 1500 words minimum. I'm tossing up leaving it out all together, but I'm worried about not being able to get in contact with my supervisors prior to the due date, which is this friday. We'll see. I'll call them tomorrow.
At noon I called Anna and need a break so we went to Bondi and had burgers from Hurricanes. On the way to the car we passed this sign for a shop -
the hurricane burgers are sooooo good. I got a cheese one with avocado. Drool.
Anyway. I suppose now I should start thinking about making dinner, or getting on with my assignment. Sigh. So over it!
I met up with Alison today and we went to the Estee Lauder corporate store. Honestly whenever I go there, I'm like a kid in a candy store. I whittled my total down from $285 to $160, so I was really pleased with myself, since I'd set a budget of $200.
I got:
DKNY Red Delicious mini size (15mL)
Clinique superpowder double face powder in matte ivory (I hope it won't be too light)
MAC spiced chocolate quad
clinique shimmering tones powder in pink chocolate
2 mac eyeshadows in BARK as backups for my shattered one! (this was a definite splurge but I do love this colour, it's so useful!)
clinique high impact mascara
clinique black honey almost lipstick
and some free samplage:
2 origins checks and balances frothy facewash
3 Dr Andrew Weil plantidote mega-mushroom eye serums
The clinique shimmering tones powder, the high impact mascara and the black honey lipstick came in a pack together - they were such incredible value! Altogether they were $35, which is $1 cheaper than the retail price for the lipstick by itself! and I really really wanted to try black honey.
The spiced choc palette was another bargain, I love the colours. And I almost fainted when I saw rose blanc AND bark for sale but I limited myself to 2 barks, and didn't get any other colours, lol!
Afterward we went for huuuuge, mouthwateringly good takeaway burgers from Hurricanes in Bondi, and then for coffee and wandering at Bondi Junction westfield. I think I've found the bag I'd like to take to Italy with me. I just got a really good feeling about it and the price is right. It's the kind of bag that I'd feel secure with - not in the sense that no one could get into it or anything, I'm sure they could - more, I just got a really strong intuitive sense that it's the bag I should buy! stupid, but the price is right, it's the right size... I just really want it!
Can't wait to play more with my makeup! I love buying this stuff, can't wait to do a spiced chocolate eye!
Anyway. That's all my news for now. Ciao darlings!
Just came home from dinner with my sister. We had dinner at Hurricanes in the city, and then went to Bondi for late night shopping and chocolate at max brenner. We also got to stroke the cutest rolly dog, it could barely see out because it's wrinkles were so deep! cute!
I bought wrapping paper and wrapped my valentines day present for W. Here it is!
What else? wednesday night I met up with W after work and we had a drink at Equilibrium, and then we made dinner together at my house. He stayed over and we watched the Farmer wants a Wife and House. He left reaaaally earlly this morning for a business trip to Perth.
Tomorrow I'm hoping I can get mum to come shopping with me to get a pink or red top for work - I want to wear something kind of Valentines Day themed top! maybe I can find some badges that have hearts on too!
And, I'm trying to upload a funny video of willum. Slowest upload ever though! it's not even that long! cereally! so over it. Anyway, so excited! tomorrow is V-Day eve! and, W is coming over when his flight gets in!
Can't wait to snuggle :)
night night voxers!
Last night we had a farewell dinner for Janna as she's heading off to Vienna and Israel and such on sunday.
