Meeeeeeeeeerry Christmas!
Last night the girls and I went out for cocktails and pizza and present exchanging. We were all pretty buggered so we had a very early night but here is the haul:
Celia:
Zen Ikou Green Tea + Cherry Blossom Candle (It is lit as we speak)
Zen Ikou loose leaf tea - Green Tea, Passionfruit, Rose + Marigold
A voucher for a relaxing massage at Ella Bache
and Mac Bitter Eyeshadow
She went to the Estee Lauder staff shop the other day, and I had said to her if she saw the eyeshadow to let me know since I wanted to buy it, and then she LIED and said they didn't have it while sneakily getting it as a christmas present! haha! well done C, I totally believed!
Then Jasmine got me:
Strawberry Soap from the Body Shop
A compendium of 500 White Wines
Really adorable pink knickers with black lace and an umbrella pattern all over them!
A pair of red Peter Alexander boxers with trapeze artists all over them
Heart shaped mini bath bomb
Gorgeous cream scarf with pink and beige paisley kind of pattern
Altogether it made a lovely picture, and I felt really lucky to get such nice presents!
Aaaaand then today from the family! Willum was so adorable, he chin marked his gift all over!
Anna:
A few little things from the Smiggle store, including a pink pig eraser (that I will feel guilty using - do I start with the tail? or the snout?) a super huge paper clip, and a pink puzzle pen
and a Pink Ipod nano
M + D:
2010 astrology book for Cancer
A book with funny quotes
A white top with pink and black embroidery
Mini sized bottle of Baileys
Mac Fluidlines in Rich Ground (Metallic Brown)
Lancome Hypnose mascara which came in a Christmas pack with eye makeup remover and a black eyeliner pencil
Navy and white merino wool for my Norwegian pullover
3 lipglosses (the brown one smells like chocolate)
A Bar of Himalayan rock salt soap (which is like an exfoliating bar thingie that weighs an absolute ton!)
Spicy Plumping gloss
And now we're off for a picnic in the park before our regular huge Christmas dinner!
Ciao for now voxies, and Merry Christmas!
Can you believe?! Christmas Eve already.
I have been so busy since I got back. I haven't posted since I promised Bec I'd wait until one last gift arrived, but I know I'm already a week behind and I'll forget if I don't post now!
SO. It's been ages! I've got to be fast since I'm going out for cocktails at Coogee beach in just over an hour and I'm still not dressed or made up, so here were the highlights!
Lovely time with Alison last Thursday, good old catch up over Nachos and Cocktails at Eden bar, which is in the MLC Centre.
Friday I whinged most of the day about the pure incompetence of my University, which, no surprises, haven't got their act together and are delayed with results - they haven't finished marking, so I have no idea when I'll get my results or if I've passed for the second year in a row! So by today they are almost a week late, although, eyeroll, it's Christmas eve, no chance of them coming out now until after the New Year I figure!
Saturday Anna and I went for breakfast at Bittons, which was really good, and in the afternoon mum and I took a walk, judging people's Christmas spirit by the amount of effort put into their decorations.
Sunday I went shopping for wool in the morning and then met Bec at Central. We had coffee at starbucks, exchanged gifts, and had lunch at Bite Me Burgers. I do love those little burgers, they are too cute, check this out:
Here's what Bec got me for Christmas...
L-R: Starbucks themed stitch markers for my knitting! that's a frappucchino, a coffee bean, a scone (I think?!) and a cup of coffee! I saw these and the cupcake needles on etsy and added them to my Christmas List for Bec, I thought they were too cute! okay, next is the Fairytale Brides OPI nailpolish collection, I LOOOOOVE these colours and the mini bottles are so cute that I really wanted to scream over them. Then there is a fullsize of OPI peach-a-boo, which is a beautiful shimmery polish which looks amazing over "isn't it romantic?" - bec wanted to get me My Daddy's the King, but it didn't arrive in time, so she said she'd pop it in an express post bag when it turns up!
What else? Monday I had a career meeting with the Uni, followed by dinner at a Thai restaurant in Newtown with Anna and her friend Wendy, Tuesday I met up with Lyly and we had fish and chips at Manly. We were planning to see a psychic but we had about 4 different plans, all of which fell through, so in the end we took it as a sign and I'm booked in to see someone a friend of mum's recommended in Maroubra after New Years. Wednesday I had dinner with Ben (also at a Thai restaurant, this time in Randwick.) and then here we are today, I didn't do much, just helped mum with the last bit of shopping for Christmas dinner and such, and I have about 40-50 minutes to do my makeup! I should be right! high five to me!
I hope you all have a wonderful christmas, I will be posting my usual 'haul' photo and list of who got what tomorrow, hurrah!
Best wishes for tomorrow, hope the big guy is good to you!
so, yesterday my package from Aude arrived! I'd asked her to do a CP for me, something for Anna's christmas gift, and it arrived yesterday, along with a gift she had sent for me!
Remember this film?
"beeeeewaaare the grooooove!"
Ohhhhh My last day was lovely.
This morning I went to the dentist and had a quick final checkup. Then, back home, out again to collect a bajillion prescriptions from the pharmacy.
Then onto the bus to work.
They took me out to lunch at Medusa's which is a really lovely Greek restaurant quite close to work. Everyone shared entrees of pickled vegetables, olives, haloumi cheese, spicy sausages and pita bread with tzatziki dip, and then chose their own mains. I had lamb souvlaki. Delicious:
Then when we got back, we had a coffee and cake!
I also got these really cute pictures of me and willum. I was feeding him raisins. And, haha, you can see I dressed in the Italian colours for my last day at work!
What else? tomorrow is my big waxing day and my farewell with friends. I'm so exhausted at the moment, I have a feeling I'm coming down with the flu! it totally sucks, I really cannot afford to get sick at this point, so I'm totally going all out with the ecchinacea and immune boost tablets. Anyway! I'm off to bed!
Ciao voxies!
Oh my, this is quite scary, I don't think I've ever really been unemployed on purpose since I started working when I was in high school, at 15! Only one day left and then I will have no income whatsoever! scary!
Yay! I met up with my friend Alison, who gave me a gorgeous belated birthday gift!!
She got me...
clarins stuff -
bag
full size hand and nail cream
full sized beauty flash balm
hydraquench cream mask
gydraquench cooling cream-gel
Eua tranquility rebalancing fragrance
hydraquench intensive serum
one step gentle exfoliating cleanser
They're all perfect for someone who's just got off a long-haul flight!
Anddd.... clinique superpowder in matte beige! this is about one shade darker than the shade I already have, matte ivory, which is my winter shade - it's super pale. Because the superpowder range is quite small colourwise, the matte beige is significantly darker than the ivory, although you can't really tell in photos.
Afterwards we had lunch in Hyde Park... such beautiful weather! I think I may even have gotten a little bit burnt!
Then I went to work, and then I went to meet Ash. We had a good catch up at starbucks followed by dinner at Rossini's at Circular Quay, which was really nice.
I got home reasonably early, and now I want nothing more than a long hot shower followed by some hardcore watching movies while falling asleepness. Tomorrow is the dentist, followed by farewell lunch at work, followed by farewell drinks... eek!
which reminds me! I FINALLY got my accomodation in italy! soo I need to organise my hotel for my first week! I'm excited, I will be living near a park, in the city, but 20-30 minutes away from my school. EEK! this is not good because classes start at 8am. Ugh!
oh well... nevermind - it's close to a little park and also to the Villa Borghese! weekend relaxing in the villa gardens will be up there, if I get the chance!
Ciao voxies!
Yay!
my parents returned from their trip to europe today!
Eyeroll though, their flight was massively delayed, which was so frustrating, we got to the airport at 6:30 am, but their flight was delayed until 10:05 am! what the!
anyway, I helped them unpack and heard about their trip, and they gave me a few little gifts:
Mum thinks I should frame it. I think it'd look nice with a mushroom coloured backing sheet and a really dark brown frame, but I wont get it done until I return from Europe myself.
Then the kilt/tartan skirt that they ordered should be showing up fairly shortly... so my waiting list is currently:
bunny tshirt
tourist shorts
pink usb drive that's taking a bajillion years to arrive
kilt/tartan skirt
It's good to have them back. Anna's come over to get her gifts and have dinner with us, which is nice, but I've been put in charge of collecting the take away pizza, so that's it from me!
ciao voxies!
I'm trying to set up my phone so that I can blog on the go. Exciting stuff!
So, I'm officially venti quattro anni. Today was fun. At work, I got strawberry cheesecake, a fluffy scarf and hat, an adorable pink card with a bunny and cupcakes on it, and an early mark.
Then my friends came over and Jasmine made us roast. As per usual, I'll list my haulings, accompanied by photos!
my grandma:
$200 cheque.
My parents:
my own tarot book to go with my mini-tarot deck.
3 piece jammies set
(they also paid for a lot of my mini laptop, and they're bringing me back a woolen skirt in my clan tartan from their trip to europe that probably cost them an arm and a leg )
my sister:
'woodsmoke' country road bag - I'm stoked about this one, I'm using it as hand luggage and it's almost an exact match for my suitcase
$20 bookstore voucher! yay! books for the plane!
My friends:
J
this gorgeous bag that she said was for 'school' in italy - it's so ME! and it fits my laptop and loads of books and rolls up pretty flat! perfect!
silicone, heatshaped cupcake moulds. Can't wait to try them out!
C (the florist)
these beautiful flowers
voucher for eyebrow, brazilian and underarm wax! I told her I needed/wanted these before I leave for europe
pyjamas with cupcakes on
My work:
matching scarf and hat set. They're really fuzzy/warm!
That's it from me! night from your newly mid 20's blogger! ciao voxies!
My god. This post title sounds like a project name at work, not a 'romantically themed' blog title! anyway.
V Day has come and gone for another year. I hope you were all spoilt by your significant others, and if you had no significant other... then I hope you took the opportunity to do something extra special for the most important person in your life - YOU!
Here's how my weekend went down:
Friday - W turned up after the whole drama with the pizza, and we had a really nice quiet evening.
Saturday - we opened V-Day gifts and shared cards and relaxed at my house all morning. We then had a (Very Romantic) lunch at KFC, and when we returned to the house, a gorgeous bunch of flowers had been delivered for me! they were David Austen roses (which are big, heritage type roses with a beautiful perfume) in pink and white, tied with a dark red ribbon. Of course, we got a photo of willum wearing the ribbon and he looks exactly like a chocolate lindt bunny!
I got W Dolce & Gabbana The One cologne and a Kings of Leon CD. He got me the flowers, and 2 MAC products from the Blonde, Brunette, Redhead collection that only just came out in Australia. He got me the mineralize skinfinish powder in Blonde, and a plushglass in live and dye. The powder is a really pretty pink, which is used as an illuminator/highlighter/blush type thing to give you a pretty glow, and the plushglass is a really gorgeous almost nude pink with just a hint of gold. I was going to take pictures, but I just realised I left the mineralize finishing powder in the car, so I'll wait until I have both of them and do a little photo shoot, haha!
Then W drove us back to his house (via The World! - it was actually kind of fun!) and we got ready and went out for dinner in Parramatta! He took me to a restaurant called La Bella Vista, and they had complimentary champers on arrival, and a special V-Day menu. We didn't get that since the entree was seafood, but we had a lovely meal and then drove home. We WERE going to see a movie at the drive in, but the weather was attrocious, so we went home and watched family guy dvds instead!
Sunday - we watched "I shouldn't be alive" on tv - which was about a young family (20 year old newly weds and their 3 or 4 month old baby) who were stranded in ice and snow for 9 days after their car got stuck in a snow drift. It was really, really horrifying, this ordeal they went through. Then, we went to see Valkyrie at the movies. It's about one of the (20, apparently) assasination attempts on Hitler by various members of the German government and army. I mean. I KNOW it wasn't going to have a happy ending... but it was still quite emotional, not to mention harrowing, watching everything that transpired, but at the same time, it's something that afterward, I was really glad I'd seen. I felt like it was a story that should be told, that no one should forget what these men tried to do. I felt so sad for their wives and children at the end - it's no comfort to them that their husbands, their lovers, or their fathers are gone, even if it was a heroes death. It's the nature of war, but at the same time, I wonder why human beings are so cruel to each other. All in all, it was a bit too much emotional turmoil on the one day for me!
NEXT! after that W had to get ready for Squash, and I was driving back home so I could meet Celia for dinner. We talked about her weekend of crazy valentines day related hours, her sneakiness in helping W organise my present, and also what I'd thought of the flowers she'd organised for him! We also stuffed ourselves with Tiramisu. All round, a good evening had by all.
Tomorrow It's back to work, and tuesday, massages, woohoo! then I'm hopefully selling a text book at some point in the coming week, meeting Jasmine for breakfast and also meeting up with a friend from high school for a little reunion on thursday, unless something comes up unexpectedly. I should also see anna at some point during the week, and probably schedule mum in as well, as the rents are going away for a 10 day cruise as of this friday. I think I'm going to be bored and lonely until they get back!
Other things on my permanent to-do list that I never get around to? I need to sell my wetsuit and snorkel on ebay, I need to find out about my personalised starbucks card, I need to organise a new cinnebuzz card for reward points at the cinema, I need to get my new student concession sticker, AND, I need to find out what's happening re: accomodation for my first week in Rome. Yawn. It all sounds so boring. I was also hoping to ask W for some pointers re: project management, so I can start on my masters dissertation! (hurrah! Note the sarcasm!)
anyway, that's pretty much it. I'm really exhausted all the time lately, so I also have to take some iron tablets I think! but anyway. Night voxers!
I was reading over my last post - what drama? I totally didn't mention it! the drama would have been the 4 glowstick bracelets, 2 glowstick necklaces and the massive hangover I woke up with on the 1st.
I found out who the FHM lingerie cards belong to though! so that's a good start to the year.
I felt like all I've done this holidays is shop. I went shopping with mum on friday to get some shoes for the wedding I'm going to next week, and we almost didn't find anything... until MOLLINI. OMG. Perfect match, just the most perfect shoes that totally fit the dress I bought. You know when you think, ok, this is far too hard, I will never find what I want for a price I can afford, and then, all of a sudden, the perfect thing just turns up? It was like that.
The dress is such a difficult colour. It's cream, but with a hint of pink - but not TOO pink. It has a hint of champagne, but not too much gold. Almost latte, but not too dark. You get the picture. All the shoes were too pink, too white, to gold or too mushroom. So mum and I thought, ok, let's match the shoes to the black sash, black shoes? easy!
but! it wasn't! because I don't want to buy the same shoes I've already got, except a new version. I wanted something new, different, sexy, but also conservative, since it's a work wedding!
anyway, Enough of my rambling about the damn shoes. We found some! here they are:
In love! the dark colour on them is actually brown, but they can pass for the black of the sash on the dress. Perfect! and I can wear them afterward for work with browns and beiges and creams n stuff! yay!
What else? so that was fun - mum and I had lunch in dymocks and went to the book store to spend her book voucher, and then today we went to Bondi junction to get jasmine a birthday present.
I ended up getting her headache balm (she wanted it!) a cook book, something from T2 (tea shop), and some things from Kikki K. I hope she likes it.
Anyway, returning from that, I realised I'd forgotten to buy wrapping paper, so I went up to randwick and picked some up, and Mum and I had coffee. We also found Australian-flag thongs (flip flops) for Australia day! so now I only need to find a tshirt and I'm set!
Yawn. I'm tired. Supposed to be jogging tomorrow morning. Can't really see it happening but we'll see.
Night night.
