I had another busy weekend! Let's start with
Friday
I swapped shifts and worked in the morning, and after work I walked across the bridge to Pyrmont and met Anna at her school. I got left in the staffroom for a while, and then after lunchtime ended, we went to Anna's class.
It's been a while since I've been around ANY kids, let alone like, 20 of them. They called me 'Miss Shaw #2' and I had forgotten how much touching and poking and moving and such that small children do. Like, get off me, stop TOUCHING, LOL.
Seriously though, they were totally cute! I told them about my upcoming italy trip (my sister wanted me to give them news) and they asked me relevant questions, such as - what's your favourite colour? how old are you? what's your favourite colour? favourite car? animal? etc.
I helped them with some numeracy and literacy and probably scarred them for life, haha! afterward, Anna and I went to Darling harbour for gin and tonic, followed by burgers at Hurricanes! epic!
They have these crazy flames behind a glass wall -
Then we went to bondi and watched 'the proposal' again, god that movie is just so funny, and RR is unbelievably gorgeous! seriously! his character is such a perfect catch - loves his job, (has a job!) good work ethic, gorgeous, dresses nicely, has rich, lovely parents, likes animals, loves to travel... what's not to like!
Saturday was boring, but then on Sunday mum and I went for a walk in the park, then i had a late breakfast with Anna in Newtown. Then we hired twilight and laughed at how badly acted the movie was. She's just started reading the books so she wanted to see the film. It's even worse on a small screen than it is at the movies! too funny.
The teapot at the place we had breakfast had these cool handles on the teastrainers that had letters - funnily enough mine was an R (for Rosie):
anyway. I'm off for dinner with Celia now, so ciao voxies!
You know when you go out on friday night, which makes the whole weekend seem like a billion times longer?
well Jasmine had her farewell on friday, I met her after work for drinks at the hotel where she works. Then we met the girls at Crystal Bar, Martin place, and had pizza, cheese and a really nice L'Abruzzo red. Afterward we went to Martin Place bar for more cocktails and dancing to Mickey J. I can't believe the king of pop is really gone. If anyone ever asks me what I was doing the nightMichael Jackson died, I can tell them I was dancing to 'Blame it on the Boogie' in a bar in Martin Place. We got home around midnight, and then...
Saturday
Anna and I did a massive clean of the house - vaccuum, mopping, laundry, everything - so that my parents will come home to a really nice tidy house on wednesday. We went out for coffee at Centennial Park cafe, which has such a nice view, it's really been designed to make the best of the landscape.
Sunday
Anna and I had breakfast at Spicer Street Cafe in Woollahra, which was quite nice, I preferred her egg and bacon roll with cheddar and mayonaise to my organic porridge with strawberries, brown sugar and rhubarb, since mine was a bit too cold.
Afterward, I read the paper and had a nap, and then I met Celia for dinner.
We had thai, and OMG they have fortune cookies now! mine said:
a thrilling time is in your immediate future
woohoo! I hope they mean good thrilling, not bad thrilling!
I think sometimes that life does little things just to test you. I got out of bed this morning and got ready to go for my run, and just as I got out the door, it started to rain, but I decided to go anyway.
Well when I got to the park, the rain had stopped and I did my 40 minute jog almost completely dry, as gorgeous rainbows formed in the sky - some of the biggest, most vibrant rainbows I've ever seen!
Afterward I went over to Anna's house and we went for breakfast at Bitton's in Erskinville. It's our new find and we're quite impressed with it. I had a fresh corn omlette with gruyere cheese and spicy tomato sauce (on the side), with avocado, and a skim cap. Yum!
After breakfast I dropped Anna off to have coffee with a friend and I did some of my uni assignment. I collected her later from Coogee and we had a passionfruit tart and tea at her house. I've just come back now and I was going to do some of my essay before we go out to see 'Angels and Demons' tonight but I am just so exhausted. I have no idea why! I'm guessing I'll do some when I come back tonight, and I'm spending all of tomorrow on it, so I can justify a nap now! I'll let you know what i thought of A&D!
