Okay. Assignment - handed in, that means I am officially waiting for my results, and have nothing more to hand in!
I'm not sure what is worse, having uni work still to do, or waiting for results. I think maybe waiting for results is worse. Anyway! The semester is over! yay!
Today I was editing my assignment, (and by editing I mean, adding huge slabs of new research) and Willum was sitting there, looking out the window, looking glumly at the sunny garden. I know he hates going out there by himself, so I ended up packing up all my things, grabbing a cup of green tea, my laptop, a usb drive with my assignment word file, and sitting out there with him. It's funny, it's beautiful, clear weather, but unbelievably cold. At least I was in the sun and there was no breeze! and Willum enjoyed himself, which is of course the main point.
I got this funny photo of him eating the strawberry plants.
After I handed my assignment in, I walked up the road and got Angels and Demons from the secondhand bookshop. It's already a little bit different from the movie. I'm enjoying it so far.
And now I'm sitting inside with the heater on, having a glass of red, thinking about what I'm going to make for dinner, with a full weekend without pressure or responsibility stretching out before me. Bliss.
Ciao voxies!
So last night mum and I went to the festival of lights in the city. It wasn't really all that impressive, but i got some ok photos!
what else? my parents are leaving tomorrow, sob. Anna and I are supposed to be going to a new place for breakie on sunday, can't wait to see if its any good, it was a suggestion from the same person as last week's breakfast rec, which was great, so hopefully its nice.
And saturday night, Jasmine wants to have a few drinks. I might go for one or two - havent been out for ages.
Then today, i got a sample of Lancome Genifique Youth Activator today! the benefits and joys of Myer One!
I was so frustrated about a specific online drama I'm experiencing that I also had to go try on some Loubou's (Christian Louboutin shoes) in David Jones - it helped!
Also, I've been reading the Riley Jensen 'Guardian' book series all over again. I really want to read some of the new ones - maybe I'll organise to get dymocks vouchers from valuedopinions.com - they offer reward vouchers for completed surveys. I never know which vouchers to get so my money always piles up.
anyway. Ciao for now! xox
It's been a really heavy week. Wednesday I stayed at W's. First we weent to Capitol Square and won two valentines day themed tofu toys and a funny looking bear holding a chicken. Then we got the train to W's area and had dinner at 'the Wenty' RSL club. We had only just finished dinner when he got a phone call - his soccer team had a practise match, and so we had to drive like mad things back to his house and grab his soccer things and race to the field.
It was absolutely freeeeeezing, and I was very grateful to have W's jumper from the car, along with my cardigan, and my pashima. Afterward we were both exhausted and pretty much went straight to bed and slept. On Thursday, I met Alison and we had breakfast and shopped for boots, and then after work, I had a networking evening, so my boss and I got a taxi to Bondi, and spent the evening talking about what we do in a kind of 'musical chairs' game, and lost my 'networking virginity'.
I slept really badly on thursday night, I guess I was just thinking about my assignment due this afternoon. Then today, I had the morning shift, and our computer kept turning off, so although I managed to get a good portion of my uni work done, I accidentally sent myself the wrong file in my rush to email it from my work address to my home email.
After work I rushed home and realised that I'd sent the wrong file, so I had to redo all the work I'd done! luckily it was only 500 words, so it didn't take me too long.
I was hoping that I would get to see W tonight, but he is doing something with his work friends and we had a terrible argument on the phone. I'm not really sure what will happen now - sometimes I feel sad that every person we have had some kind of relationship has imprinted on us - the past effects us in ways we could never imagine. It makes me wonder if I've become twisted and ruined by my past experiences.
I was watching the film of memoirs of a geisha, since I've been reading the book, although I enjoyed it, the book was much, much better. I stuffed myself with strawberry icecream and watched the movie, and now I think I'll go to bed and snuggle with the rabbit.
I just wish for so many things that I cant even explain.. Hopefully mey next post will be somewhat more cheerful!
I promised B that I'd post up pics of what Aussie SB's cups look like. Our sleeves especially are different... I took some pictures with my phone. Here ya go:
and here is the photo I took of the instant camera picture they took of me and 'santa' at the cheer party:
And, as part of my room-tidying (and procrastination about that last 50 words of the essay!):
and, my DVD collection:
hehehe. Seriously, I'm going to go do that essay now :D
Ciao voxies!
Today I got busy on my laaaast assignment for uni this year. I intend to do a really good job, have this done by tomorrow night, spend the weekend tidying my room for my dinner party next week and then I should be able to relax!
Here is my menu as of right now:
entree
sangria and nibbles
Main
lasagne and salad
[salad: onion, lettuce, baby spinach, sun dried tomatoes, regular tomatoes, fetta, avocado, carrot]
Dessert
pink grapefruit, strawvberry and champagne granita
I really hope it turns out ok! it's a weight off my mind to know what I'm cooking and be able to gear myself up for it for next saturday night! the assignment is due on the monday after the dinner, so I really want to have it out of the way by this weekend so I don't have to stress myself out about more than one thing at a time!
What else? Not much really. I bought another book for my collection and tidied the huge stack of books that's been on my bed for the last 2 weeks, except for the uni books I'm supposed to be reading. They'll stay there until the day the assignment gets handed in.
Anyone have any tips on the fastest way to tidy a desk??
night voxers!

Yes, yes, I was grumpy about the first book in the twilight saga... I wanted to like it so much, that I was a bit disappointed with it! but!
I finished twilight the other day...
Edited to add...
I met up with the girls yesterday morning and we had a kind of early lunch/late breakfast kind of thing in the city. It was really nice, we went to The Old Vienna Cafe in the QVB building. It was expensive for what we ordered but still delicious.
Yesterday I took this picture at work with my phone, It's the view from my desk:
The sun was coming through the window and it was really nice and warm, so I took a photo :) After work the bf and I went to Eastgardens so he could get a haircut. I took a photo of the sunset from the rooftop carpark:
Afterwards we went for dinner at Chao Praya, our favourite Thai restaurant. It was cool actually, we normally get the same thing but I got something different.
When we got home we watched my newest ebay purchase: Swallows and Amazons on DVD. I love this book. LOVE it, and the film was really really cute, but I just don't think it transmutes very easily into a movie. it's one of those movies/books where not really much happens but it feels like it has. I enjoyed it anyway.
That's about it for now although if anything truly exciting happens today I might post that too :D
Today at work the gum above my front tooth started hurting. Maybe 4 or 5 months ago I got a root canal on that tooth, so I'm extremely concerned that there is an infection in the cavity :(
I booked in for the dentist for the 15th but I'm probably going to ring back tomorrow and tell them to bring me forward since it is super painful, and if I recall correctly, gets worse before I gets better.
So that totally sucks.
On the plus side, I joined a few groups on Vox!
Also, one of the women at work brought in this book:
It has awesome recipes for home made skincare products. I tried the lavender toner tonight and it was pretty awesome. Here is the recipe:
5 tablespoons of warm purified water (I just used regular tapwater)
1/4 teaspoon of honey
1/4 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar
4 drops of lavender essential oil
first dissolve the honey in the warm water. Then, mix the apple cider vinegar and oil together, before adding it to the water and honey mixture. You can keep it in the fridge for up to six months, but make sure you shake the bottle before use!
My skin feels wonderfully soft and smooth. It's a really cute and pretty book, I would totally reccomend buying it. Borders stocks it for like, $24.00
Ooh! In other news, my personalised starbucks card finally arrived in the mail! They're only available in america and canada at the moment so I had to ask one of the girls on my favourite forum to be my american shipping address. Then she sent it over to me, and here it is! maybe the FIRST, or the ONLY personalised starbucks cards in Australia!
