hurrah!
at long last we were able to collect my personalised diary! woohoo! So yesterday after work I met up with Marisol and Alessandra, and we went to the store (Cartoleria Pantheon) to pay off the rest of the purchase and to take it home.
It's gorgeous!
It's a wrap around cover that closes with a press-stud, in chocolate leather, with a golden, cursive R embossed into the front. Rather than a blank journal inside, I asked for a 2010 diary, which is a day-to-a-page one. I've always had week to a double spread diaries, so it will be an interesting change, although the cover fits my standard A5 size anyway, so I'll be able to continue using it for many years I hope. Here are some pictures...
Today is also my Daddy's 67th birthday! I called him last night to say happy birthday, so that I'd catch him before he went to work, and a bit later I'm hoping to hear how he liked the card I sent - I chose one with bikes on the front since he's a huge cycling buff, and then I put a postcard sized puzzle with a picture of Michelangelo's David on it inside the card - my dad's name is David, so when I saw it in Florence, I snapped it up - it seemed appropriate!
Today after work the Vernissage opens, so I'm hoping to get some nice pictures of how that looks when it's all set up, and then I have to dash off for Alessandra's farewell dinner in Trastevere!!
Well, that's about it from me!
ciao voxies

So, I'm officially venti quattro anni. Today was fun. At work, I got strawberry cheesecake, a fluffy scarf and hat, an adorable pink card with a bunny and cupcakes on it, and an early mark.
Then my friends came over and Jasmine made us roast. As per usual, I'll list my haulings, accompanied by photos!
my grandma:
$200 cheque.
My parents:
my own tarot book to go with my mini-tarot deck.
3 piece jammies set
(they also paid for a lot of my mini laptop, and they're bringing me back a woolen skirt in my clan tartan from their trip to europe that probably cost them an arm and a leg )
my sister:
'woodsmoke' country road bag - I'm stoked about this one, I'm using it as hand luggage and it's almost an exact match for my suitcase
$20 bookstore voucher! yay! books for the plane!
My friends:
J
this gorgeous bag that she said was for 'school' in italy - it's so ME! and it fits my laptop and loads of books and rolls up pretty flat! perfect!
silicone, heatshaped cupcake moulds. Can't wait to try them out!
C (the florist)
these beautiful flowers
voucher for eyebrow, brazilian and underarm wax! I told her I needed/wanted these before I leave for europe

My work:
matching scarf and hat set. They're really fuzzy/warm!
That's it from me! night from your newly mid 20's blogger! ciao voxies!
Tonight is my birthday eve. I'm going to sit in with a glass of wine, watch Miss Marple on the ABC and luxuriate in my last night of 'early twenties' ness.
Last night was lovely, we had dinner at the Westin Restaurant, Mosaic - it was probably more suited to dinner with my parents and my sister, as it was really quite expensive, although we did enjoy ourselves, the decor there is stunning.
It's a heritage building, and they've put a roof over what would have been an outdoor piazza, so you feel like you're outside, and the original walls look like external walls, but you're inside.
Afterward we went shopping at Broadway. I bought another sheer bra by Freya - I thought it would be good to have a few that will dry quickly.
Anyway. I'm watching Miss Marple - Pocket full of Rye now, so night night voxies!
As per every year, my definitive list of birthday gifts starts here.
My birthday wasn't really anything special this year, but I did enjoy it. On friday, my boss organised for the office to come into the board room and we had cake and tea and coffee. They gave me a card and a gift voucher for a women's clothing store. AND she gave me a one hour early mark!
then on saturday I went out with the uni girls for spanish food. Alison stayed overnight and we had breakfast on my birthday. It was really nice, just sitting in the sun and chatting.
Here is what I got:
From my Sister
Armand Basi perfume - "red" (it took us ages to choose. It's quite gingery and different.)
From my parents
- Garmin GPS watch forerunner 205 (can't wait to train with it!)
- bunny statue. I saw it and really loved it, I was just drawn. I usually hate that kind of dustcatching stuff, but I really wanted it!
- korres brand olive pit scrub (AWESOME stuff, really scrubs and moisturises too!
- mango and blossom body lotion (just a cheap brand but it smells really great!)
- sauna masque red hot earth for anti stress
- korres olive and rye moisturiser sample
- korres firming eye cream sample
- lindt chocolate 3 pack (I will keep these in my desk drawer at work)
From my Grandma
a cheque for $200. I love you grams!
From my friend Alison
- this awesome makeup book - Rae Morris 'Makeup - the ultimate guide' - there are some really awesome looks done step by step in here, and some interesting product info too. Can't wait to have a good read of it.
- UFO sherbet lollies. My faves. I've eaten them all now, LOL
- home made Eurovision song contest 2008 CD (it's a 'thing' that we love to do/watch together, LOL)
And from my friend Celia and her BF... a huuuge bunch of flowers. Just one of the perks of having an awesome florist as a friend, LOL. Lillies, cherry blossom and swiss cheese plant leaves.
Here is a close up of the rabbit face - I was just totally attracted to this funny little smile!
And some funny photos from Saturday night with the girls:
hee hee!
well I was getting kind of tired of that entry being up there to greet me every time I opened my vox!
Today was nice. I handed my assignment in at long last, I had coffee with mum, I bought a whole lot of Lancome because their Gift With Purchase sounded too good to pass up! We had massages at work and a farewell cake for Glenn. Then when I got home, my sephora brush set had turned up and Shaundra, the girl that had sent it to me included two wet n wild makeup palettes, a perfume sample and a sample of stila tinted moisturiser!
what a sweetheart. I will totally have to buy her a gift although I can't think of anything that she might like.
here is the lancome stuff I got, all for around $130. I felt kind of guilty spending that much but it's not like I have anything to save toward or anyone else to buy for, so what the hell:

Here is a picture of the brush set that Shaundra CP (Custom Purchased) for me:
And, I really liked the way that the flowers in our house made such a pretty shadow, so here is a photo of that too:
today my sister turned 26. We went out for her birthday the other day, dinner at this place in woollahra, then hot chocolate at max brenner, and THEN drinks at a pub with bizzare lights that looked like fangs or elephant tusks...
Me, Amber, Wendy, Lisa and Nancy
Delicious Danish Toffee hot chocolate (next time I want dark chocolate with orange or orchid oil)
AND, finally got my dark green shoes for graduation! I have been looking everywhere for dark green shoes that would match the 'tartan' green of my robe. These ones are synthetic snakeskin, suede and pewter/metallic almost patent bits (they look black in this photo but they're kind of sparkly grey)
and finally?
Please don't cry little bunny! Finally got a picture of him cleaning his face. So cute!
